One year ago, Jesuit Refugee Service started to provide accommodation to the first beneficiaries in the Integration House for vulnerable groups of refugees “Pedro Arrupe”

On the 3rd of May 2017, two beneficiaries started to use this service which provides complete care for unaccompanied and separated children, and until today 19 children under the age of 15 had used this service. At the moment we have 7 of them with us.

All the beneficiaries are included in the formal system of education in the Republic of Serbia, they go to school regularly, but also attend different types of extracurricular and sports activities. Even though number of beneficiaries doesn’t seem big, having in mind level of vulnerability and psychological problems we dealt with in the previous year, we feel very proud on the results and everything that has been done.

For the enormous support we want to thank Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs , Ministry of health, Ministry of education, City center for Social Welfare Belgrade, elementary school Rade Drainac, School for education of adults Branko Pešić and High school for textile design, and also our colleagues in PIN – Psychosocial Innovation Network, Belgrade Center for Human Rights, LDS Charity, Foundation Ana i Vlade Divac, Info Park, Refugee Aid Miksalište, SOS Children village Serbia, UNHCR Serbia, UNICEF Serbia, UNFPA in Serbia, IAN – International Aid Network, Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) , IOM – UN Migration , APC – Asylum Protection Center, ADRA Serbia, Commissariat for refugees and migrants.

At the very end, two institutions whose support and full cooperation goes beyond the boundaries of business cooperation, and turns into true friendship and communion for the benefit of those for which we exist: Philanthropy and The International School of Belgrade (Official)

Thank you.
We will continue much harder and better to serve refugees. You can join us.
